Thursday, Lenten Prayer / Morning, March 9
Psalms 113
Leader: Praise the Lord, the creator of light. Praise him, You servants of the Lord.
People: Praise the name of the Lord. May the name of the Lord be blessed from the beginning and for ever.
Leader: From the rising of the sun to its setting great is the name of the Lord.
People: The Lord is high above all nations, and his glory is above the heavens.
Leader: Who is like the Lord, our God? He dwells in the heights above and yet, He looks upon the depths.
People: He raises up the poor from the dust and make them sit with princes. He makes the barren woman to be a joyful mother of children and he grants her a home.
All: To You belongs praise, oh God. Barekhmor.
——————-Devotion by Fr Dcn Maverick
I woke up this morning, just like any morning, feeling somewhat tired. I usually prayer before I get to work, and sometimes I do it after I sit at my work desk.
Today, the skies were grey. I usually enjoy grey skies and coldish weather. This kind of weather reminds me of my younger days, when I’d drink hot chocolate and snuggle in bed. It’s a comforting feeling.
Today, as we fast in Lent, we have the opportunity to give thanks for the little things. Today is a canvass, ready to be used for our praise and thanksgiving.
Be intentional with your free time today, use it to pray ane meditate on God’s word, his Scriptures, and if you have enough time — read what the Fathers have said. Before you consider what these holy men have said, seek God for yourself.
I have said these things in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
